(Happy!!)B'thday

One more year of my life has passed today. When you are a kid you wait for your B'thday for the gifts, cakes, friends, party, masti and a day to feel special b'coz it's your B'thday. But as soon as you grown up this celebration started shrinking and starts concentrating towards few special B'thday wishes, which if you don't get you will feel as nobody wishes you and if you get then it's like whole world wished you.
Now I'm feeling a little older, not in terms of age, but in terms that one more year passed and still I've not contributed anything substantial for my country, my family, my friends. It reminds me that I have to do a lot of work before the life passes as it is. I wish I would be able to do whatever my near and dear ones expect from me.
Few words which I would like to follow:
With all these words I would like to thank all those my family and friends who wished me on my b'thday. Thank you all. (M U J)

Diwali@Coimbra

The very first time when I am away from my home at Diwali. The Day started here with the phone call of Nishi Di(my second elder sister). I received the Diwali wishes from all her family with a demand of a video game from my nephew (the mischievous cheeku ). Di reminded me once again to take care of my health and to eat properly as she always does. She told me that she talked to mummy Papa and they are feeling lonely. Me too. So much lonely as never before.
This is the life and you have to face such moments when you want to be with someone and you find no one there. Then you remember all those cheerful moments when you celebrated your festivals, shared your happiness and repentance and every feeling with them. The only wish you have is to make them happy, to feel felicity ,always, with you or without you. But I know the real pleasure is always to be with.....
Anyway, as the life goes on, my day also continued with the same daily routine, having bath followed by breakfast and then to move towards my department to work. But the day was not the same. Every moment I was feeling if I can reach back my home anyhow. Suddenly a tune of the song "Kal ho na ho" shaken my thoughts. It was a phone call which bring me back from the memories of my home. "Home" displayed over the screen of my cell phone. I realised the situation. And as I was anticipating, the next few moments were highly sentimental. My mom was crying another side and she and my father was missing me badly as I was. Saying them to celebrate properly without me, I finished the call. Now I was more out of mind and alone. I checked my mails and replied for all Diwali wishes. After finishing all these work with a heavy heart I left my office for the lunch. I had had my lunch and a nap for almost two hour.
The conversation at tea time started with the Diwali wishes to my apartment-mates. I explained about the Diwali, The biggest Hindu festival, across the Whole world as the festival of Light and Happiness and a welcome to the wealth and prosperity through the worship of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha. One of the Mythological aspect behind Diwali celebration is the come back of "Lord Ram" to Ayodhya after defeating the evil Asur Lankan King "Ravan".
Then we decided to celebrate Diwali and the celebration started with enlightening the candles with prayer followed by a Dinner and at last playing some Poker(most commonly played game Flush) as a tradition of Diwali night to have some good luck with wealth.... :):) ( The most imp one ha ha ha ). We played up to 4 AM in the morning. I won some of the games but at last I lost 4 Euros. It's a game I thought, and finished Happy having all the celebrations of Diwali@Coimbra. :) :)
So Wishing Everyone A very very Happy Diwali. Enjoy yourself, play poker, but don't use much amount of money. Ha ha ha ha.... :):)

Indian Saffron

Cooking is always a fun almost like an experimental chemistry class. You can always pretend your self standing in your lab with a small spoon (of course tea spoon) full of salt thinking whether the amount you have taken is going to spoil your food or make it the finger-licking tasty dish. Good point is that the Indian way of cooking allows you to do a lot more chemistry in your kitchen with lot of spices and flavours. I had cooked a less spicy Potato fry (Arey Bhai our own aloo bhujia) and everyone here (I should mention here about my apartment-mates with whom I'm living here. I am sharing an apartment having four rooms with a shared kitchen and bath. Two guys and a gal, which counts three, so who is the fourth one??? ha ha ha , the famous santa banta joke.. ) liked it. Reason was simple, as you must have already guessed, it was not spicy and properly cooked and I served it with butter pao Indiano (don,t worry it is not anything new, it is our Roti or you can say chapati) which you can find in the super stores, 5 for 5 Euro only. My GOD 5 Roti for 350 rs. My suggestion here, "Never compare your expenditure here in Indian currency, like all Indians do".
So why all this crap story, the answer is to share an interesting fact about a very important ingredient of Aloo Bhujia which is saffron!!!. Surprised!!!! Those who know how to cook must be surprised. I was. Actually when Tania (one of my apartment-mate) who wanted to know about the recipe and ingredients asked about the sparkling yellow colour and I told her, "it is turmeric". "Turmeric!!! what is that??" "Oh poor fellow they don't know about turmeric", I thought. I had shown them a packet which I bought from India. Then It was the time for my surprise. She told me it is saffron and shown me a bottle containing the powdered turmeric. But the label was "Açafrao das Indas" means Indian Saffron. Wow!!! So cheap saffron. I must have started import to India.
So Enjoy Europe with Indian saffron in a university founded in 1290".

The First Impression

Ah...Today I started blogging. I was always fascinated about the blogs, don't know why, but, was sure to start blogging one day. The Day came and here is my first blog.
Now-a-days I am in Coimbra, a beautiful city in a European country Portugal. Nice weather, nice people, everything seems to be quite eye-catcher. I am here to share my feelings and experience in a country where the language is a bar for me to express myself. When you don't have words still there is something which makes you to express yourself and there is the real essence of life.
So be here with me for a interesting and funny ride and panoramic view of the city... till then good byee.. :)
